Like the moon circling around the earth, its a cycle
Mistakenly seen as soft spoken, un-awoken
Never appreciated my devotion
When the tides rise I get kicked into the ocean
They prayed that I’d drown in the commotion
Who are you to play God, judge and jury
For so long my vision was blurry
Blind leading blind, left me weary
Though I scream out, no one would hear me
Praying the moon would give me grace
Make me the ocean and lift me out of this space
I wasn’t soft spoken, my lungs were filled with water
Nothing in this world would help me get my life in order
Round and round, the pearl in the sky
Praying she’d catch my wish this time
In this world I see corruption
Broken faith and lustful lovin’
Nothing in this world could bring me peace
Only God can lower the tides so I can plant my feet
They’ve fallen too deep to realize why they can’t see
The water has become the air they choose breath
Born in the cycle deep beneath the ocean
Mermaid people, unwilling to change until they’re floating
